Sales funnel copywriting is creating the language and structure of your sales funnel. It’s a process of research and development of each step in your sales funnel. I know when I say structure it doesn’t seem to be relevant but, as you’ll see later in this blog both language and structure are critical for your sales funnel to flow well.

Steps of a basic sales funnel

There are some fundamentals that are followed when making a sales funnel and doing the copywriting. These fundamentals can all be done on one page or in multiple pages but it’s important to have them somewhere.

Here are the Basic steps

  1. Attention: Grab the potential lead or client attention through paid ads or organic traffic. They need to be aware of your product or company.
  2. Interest: You need to show them why they need to be interested. Give them incentives for signing up like free stuff or discounts or social proof etc..
  3. Desire: At this point the client is interested and is looking at the offer. Make this part as easy as possible. Things need to be clear and simple. This is a good time for social proof or “use the fear of missing out” are good options.
  4. Action: Whatever you want the client to do tell them to do it in a unique way. Don’t be generic, add a little flare to the call to action.
  5. Flow up: This is where most of your sales will come from. Whatever you sell, make sure you have a follow up process. Email is great but it could be text or phone calls.

 Though its  a basic sales funnel but it still works. Mix things up and add steps but this is just the fundamentals.

How does copywriting fit into the structure of your sales funnel?

Sales funnel copywriting needs to look good and sound good. So each step in your funnel needs to focus on the goal of each step. Again, Each step can be its own page or only a sentence; it all depends on the structure of your sales funnel.

Effective communication is key when developing the language of your sales funnel. One sentence can be as effective or even more so than 500 words. So don’t complicate things.

Here are the basic steps to be successful at copywriting.

  1. Get to know you customer by doing some research or talking to them directly
  2. Get to know your offer, read about it or use it.
  3. Create a Damaging admission and address the flaws. Nothing is perfect so don’t pretend it is and don’t avoid it. Address it and squash it.
  4. Find Out how you’re going to get people to your sales funnel. This is critical to how your sales funnel looks. Cold emails look different from paid ads on google.
  5. Answer questions and objections. You can find these on reddit or yelp.
  6. Write first draft
  7. Rewrite
  8. Test and make adjustments. You may find out that you need to start from scratch which is better than blowing your whole ad budget on a sales funnel that doesn’t convert.
  9. Finalize
  10.  Launch

  1. Use a strong guarantee
  2. Use social poof like reviews or testimonials.
  3. Use the fear of missing out by creating a limit to the number available or a deadline for the offer to end.
  4. Spark immediate Action
