AWeber Review 2020
AWeber is an email marketing service provider that claims to have 100,000 clients world wide. You may hear people call it an autoresponder but AWeber offer much more than that. I use AWeber for my email marketing so I know it pretty personally. I like it and for where I'm at with my small business, it's exactly what I need. I'm not saying that its prefect, in fact depending on your personal situation other emailing services may be more effective. So with that said lets dive into some of the nuts and bolts!
AWeber's Cost
- Free is free but has conditions.
- Pro starts at $19mo and goes to than $149mo and above depending on amount of subscribers.
The Free plan comes with some conditions, which are easy to meet if you're just starting out and have a small email list. To qualify for the free plan all you need to have is less than 500 subscribers on your list and send no more than 3,000 emails. But not all features are available with the free plan, to unlock all the features you need to upgrade to pro.
The Pro plan has pricing tiers depending how many subscribers you have on your email list.
- $19mo for 0-500 subscribers
- $29mo for 501-2,500 subscribers
- $49mo for 2501-5000 subscribers
- $69mo for 5001-10,000 subscribers
- $149mo for 10,001 to 25,000 subscribers
For more than 25,000 subscribers on your email list you need to call AWeber for pricing.
What I did as a newbie was stick to the free plan for as long as I could so I could workout the kinks for free. Then I upgraded to pro and by that time my email list was making enough profit to cover the cost of AWeber's Pro plan.
One thing that stands out to me about AWeber is that their lowest priced Pro plan unlocks all the features AWeber has. Features like split testing your email list and sign up forms to list segmentation. Which come in handy when you're trying to optimize your emails. This is great if you're just starting out but can come as a negative as your skills and needs increase as your list grows.
Overall you get more than what you pay for. By the time you need to upgrade to the Pro plan because you have 500 subscribers you should be able to cover the cost of the plan just by monetizing your list correctly. They say that on average you make $1 per email on your list a month. That would be $500 a month by the time you need to upgrade.

AWeber Review Summary
Overall I would say AWeber is best for those just starting out. I'm not saying they're a bad email marketing service provider. I actually find AWeber to be reliable, simple and cost effective, which is why I use it. But if your list is already large and you use more advanced list segmentation techniques then you might find AWeber to be frustrating. Also, AWeber does have templates for signup forms and landing pages but I find them lacking. I would suggest finding a third-party to build your landing pages and sign up forms, I use Click Funnels.
I would rate AWeber with a solid 8/10. Given its short comings for more advance marketers this may seem as a generous score. Coming from the perspective of someone just starting out and what they would need, I believe this score is justified.
